Smygehuk
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Smygehuk is a harbour and fishing village near Trelleborg in Skåne, Sweden. It's most known for being the southernmost point of Sweden and the Scandinavian Peninsula (55° 20' N).
A statue of a woman stands in the harbour. It's made by artist Axel Ebbe, and named Famntaget (the embrace). The model for the statue is said[citation needed] to be Birgit Holmquist, grandmother to actress Uma Thurman.
