Смутное Время (Smutnoye Vremia, russian for "Dark Ages") is the standalone album by vocalist Valery Kipelov and guitarist Sergey Mavrin, both formerly from Aria (Kipelov was still Aria's member when it was released). Alik Granovky, former Aria bassist, was guest musician on "SV", but composed no songs for it. Songs from this album are still played by both "Kipelov" and "Mavrik", sharing the copyrights.

Although the major vein of album is in Heavy Metal style, common for both artists, it also includes some slow ballads and even a "drunkard"-blues #2."Vipyem Yesho" (One More Drink).

Track #4."Ya Svoboden" (I am Free) suddenly became a hit in 2003, when it was re-released by Kipelov, and live video was aired on MTV. The ballad was voted for top position in radio rock charts and in MTV Russia Top 20.
