[edit] Overview

Allen Keon Lee, 22, is better known as Smoke Bulga, an uprising east coast rapper who is currently signed with Sony.

[edit] Early Life

Smoke Bulga said that he began rhyming when he was in 8th grade after listening to demo tapes made by his schoolmates. He said that he thought he could do the same thing and went home to write out some lines. When he came to school the next day, he let his friends listen to his rap, they were shocked and could not believe that he had written them. During the gang & drug infested 90’s, he had to try to keep up with the pace to keep the peace. So there’s no mystery that he hooked up with a local crew called Phast Life. The group consisted of his brother and 3 other members. On his come-up, Smoke found himself working with a local group called Rushya. They had heard of each other through Boston’s, “small world hotline” and had mutually admired each other’s work. The two groups got together and collaborated on a compilation album that was released independently on XVIII Entertainment.

Now signed, Smoke intends to keep the mic smokin’. He’s here to represent Boston’s elite and any other hood that gets no love because they’re not New York based. His explosive first single “Smoke Did It” will liven up the airwaves upon impact. Get ready to find yourself breaking your neck with the production and singing along with the catchy hook. As Epic’s debut Hip-Hop artist, Smoke will be sure to leave many emcees choking on his fumes. 1

[edit] Albums

Smoke Bulga has only released one album so far entitled "Smoked Out" which went on sale summer of 2003. This album was met with dismal sales, reporting very few copies sold.

His single on the other hand, "Smoke Did It" was met with somewhat more favorable results.

[edit] Criticism

Despite his desire to represent Boston's elite and "return to the basics" critics have often said that Smoke Bulga's music is generic and hard to differentiate from the work of other, more popular artists. People say that "his work is nothing new, it's all the same stuff. Why buy his album when you're not even sure if it'll be good, just stick to the tried and true rappers like Dr. Dre, D12 and 50 Cent."

Smoke Bulga is still stuck in the mentality that rapping is all about the women and the cars. His lyrics merely rehash what has been said by countless rappers before him. "I'm sorry Smoke, but b*tches and cars don't cut it anymore. You have to be more original," say critics.

Smoke Bulga's lyrics are not helping with his goal of representing the "small game" rappers or crews. None of his work stands out, during a random interview, one man said, "you can't get ahead or be noticed if you continue to exist in the shadows of big stars. You have to be different and come up with something original. Copying off of other artists may have worked for you in 8th grade but you're in the music industry, mimicking does not cut it anymore. Your rhymes are pathetic."

[edit] Controversial Rumors

There have been rumors that before Smoke Bulga signed with Sony, he had been a rising star in the adult film industry. While working in numerous adult studios, he adopted the stage name "Big Bulge," very similar to his rap stage name Smoke Bulga. Unfortunately, Smoke Bulga's promising adult film career was tragically cut short due to the damages his massive penis had caused on set. His gigantic member had caused severe internal damage to several girls during filming. His unnaturally sized genitalia caused the vaginal walls to bruise and sometimes tear. One of the girls he had worked with even claimed that she passed out because of the pain when he was entering her anus during a double penetration film titled, "The Human Oreo: Mmm...that's some good Creme Filling". Critics of the film tout a reportedly "knocked out" and "dead" performance by his co-star, Candy Cane, as the prime turn-off of the film.

At the behest of his frightened female co-stars, the Big Bulge decided to end his adult film career and focus on building up his rap skills.

The 'Smoke' in Smoke Bulga's name is rumored to have been given to him by his loyal fans, who noticed that during every adult film, he would be smoking something; be it a cigarette, marijuana, or a cigar. Reportedly, Smoke Bulga was required to smoke at all times during sexual intercourse on set because it prevented him from having a full-grown erection. Had Smoke Bulga actually popped a boner, the size of his penis could cause cataclysmic problems for his female co-stars, his director, and theoretically even his beloved country, the US of A.
