Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tinggi Batu Pahat (SMKTBP), or more commonly known as High School Batu Pahat or Sekolah Tinggi Batu Pahat (STBP) among the locals, was established in 1914.

It is a secondary school for boys located in the town of Batu Pahat in the state of Johor, Malaysia.

The school's motto is Nunc Aut Nunquam; which means "Now or Never" and it was known as Government English School, Batu Pahat, during the colonial rule by the British.

Particularly a pride of Batu Pahat, being one of the oldest and most prestigious English schools in its hey day, many great people of importance in Malaysia have passed through its historic halls of education.

Close to over a century old, generations of fathers and sons, have vivid memories of teachers, principals, vivid sporting achievements and legends of lore.

High School Batu Pahat is commonly associated as the best secondary school in the small town of Batu Pahat - and to a certain extend, one of the best throughout Johor - because of numerous reasons. Among them are the good disciplinary record of students, top academic results and dedicated teachers.

SMK Tinggi Batu Pahat offers basic secondary education for boys from Form 1 to Form 5. Pre-university classes of Form 6 are also offered, and are opened for boys and girls.

The extracurricular activities offered at SMK Tinggi Batu Pahat are many and varied in the past. But since 2006, the numbers of clubs,uniformed bodies and academic society have been reduced to mere 32 units due to unforseen circumstances.

  • Lembaga Pengawas (Board of Prefects) - Given the role of inspiring role models, members of the board (called "Prefects") enforce students' discipline and set good examples. Strict discipline are placed upon Prefects. Students are inducted into the board via selection from the school's disciplinary committee.
  • Lembaga Pengawas Pusat Sumber (Board of Resource Centre Prefects) - Called "PPS", members of the board play the role of maintaining the order of the resource centres from every aspect, similar to that of resource centre librarians.
  • Lembaga Pemimpin Rakan Sebaya (Board of Peer Leaders) - Nicknamed "PRS", members of the board function as student counsellors, providing morale support and advice to students.

The administration building functions as the nucleus of the school. It houses key school head offices and most meetings are conducted here. Traditionally the building was painted white but since 2004 it has adopted a yellow coating and some green coating along the pillars and engraving to match the colours of school emblems which are in colour green, yellow and white.

The canteen sell few types of Malay traditional foods. Examples like Nasi Briyani, Curry Chicken Rice, fried noodles, fried rice, curry puff, donut, fish cracker and some Malays cake.

But, many student complain about the food in canteen are very dirty. Some of student complaining about the foods are decay already, but school teacher and canteen workers always ignore theirs complain.

The canteen’s foods continue on sells on next day if their foods are still no sold out.

In an effort to make the jump for the Digital Age, the school has established a Cyber Station. The school cyber station computers hardware with secondhand hardware system and using unregister Windows XP Basically an in-school cyber cafe, it provides internet access and printing service.

Besides this is where many students play Warcraft III - DotA, O2 Jam, Maple Story, etc. . . to distress themselves after school hours. Start from March, student is not allowed to playing games anymore when recess time.
