Smithseven is a Memphis-based non-profit booking agency, merchandise distribution, and record label helping local bands. Smithseven was started in 2000 by Brian Vernon, brother Jason Vernon, Ryan Tucker, Shawn Zorn, and members of local band the Holiday: Drew Ryan, Fletch Joyner, and Mikey Brandon. It exists to help bands book shows, promote the shows, help bands make merchandsize, sell merchandise, and record. No one affiliated with Smithseven profits from sales or concerts; all the money circulating through Smithseven is there for bands to borrow for merchanise production, and is hopefully paid back through sales. Smithseven does not exist so that bands may depend on it for promotion or sales, but only acts as a helping hand.
