Smederevo fortress is a medieval fortified city in Smederevo, Serbia. It was built in the first half of the 15th century, during the era of the Serbian Despotate, by the Serb ruler Đurađ Branković, and received additional fortifications from the Turks later that century. It survived relatively unscathed until World War II, and is now in the midst of extensive restoration and conservation work.
