[edit] March 2007

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from List of Registered Historic Places in California. Please be more careful when editing articles and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Ronbo76 01:26, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

    • actually - I removed two items from the list - neither is on the actual register of historic places.Smatprt 05:57, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
I am removing this comment as per the discussion on the Talk:List of Registered Historic Places in California.
Per that my page, I extend my sincere apology. Ronbo76 17:56, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Putting warnings on userpages

Your anti-vandalism work is great, but it's more common practice to put warnings and discussion on a user's talk page, rather than on the userpage itself (as you've been doing). So you might want to start using talk pages. Thanks. :) Switchercat talkcont 01:27, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

    • Sorry, but I just posted at the Article Talk Page, and yes, you are right, I should have started at the User talk page and not the the user page itself. My bad. Smatprt 01:33, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: User:Vero-Nihil-Verius

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. --  Netsnipe  ►  07:01, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Actually, this appears to be a content dispute, rather than outright vandalism. --  Netsnipe  ►  07:04, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

A few things, please do not bite the newcomers as you did to User:Vero-Nihil-Verius. As you can see from Talk:Edward_de_Vere,_17th_Earl_of_Oxford#Edits_by_User:Vero-Nihil-Verius, he's fully explained his edits. Wikipedia:Vandalism: "Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism.". All you had to do was ask him what he was doing and {{blatantvandal}} is not to be used unless someone is inserting obscenities into an article. Also, there's a huge difference between someone editing anonymously the first time around and then registering an account afterwards. Wikipedia:Sock puppetry only applies when a user is using multiple accounts in order to create an illusion of consensus. So please, try to work with others who hold opposing viewpoints instead of being hostile from the get-go. Thanks. --  Netsnipe  ►  17:53, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
