Slysplace is an anonymous Wikipedia user with a multitude of interests and odd knowledge.

My contributions may involve Wikification or other Gnome like activities. If your viewing this page I've probably reverted an edit, expanded a table, added minor punctuation or upset you some other way.

However around here your likely to find I've mostly been practicing the appropriate markup, working on templates of interests or just plain doing nothing.

I've used wiki for many years, and believe it has many uses, BUT of all the disgraceful uses of Wikipedia, I detest Vandalism the most and usually check the Recent changes page upon login.
I do not become obsessive of articles either written or edited I just find Vandalism appalling. .......... NUFF SAID

  • A tip library is under construction at Wikipedia:Tips, and needs your help to complete. The unsorted tips at the bottom of that page need to be moved to the various subheadings, and the tips under each subheading need to be placed in the best logical order.

Think outside the box

Just as Google can be used to supplement Wikipedia's searchbox, your browser's toolbar can be used to supplement Wikipedia's navigation aids and the Main Page. Use it to create alternate access points to Wikipedia, and as your own customized navigation bar. To do this, bookmark the pages in Wikipedia you wish fast access to, saving each bookmark in the toolbar folder. Each one will immediately be available on the toolbar.

Time-saving links

Are you tired of having to type long links to targets, and then having to write out most of the link again to hide the namespace? Simply put a pipe at the end of the link, like so: [[Wikipedia:Tip of the day|]], which turns Wikipedia:Tip of the day into Tip of the day. This trick also works with parentheses: [[colon (punctuation)|]] becomes colon.
