Sly Boogy

Sly Boogy (often misspelled "Sly Boogie") is an up and coming West Coast rap artist. In 2002 He released his solo debut "Judgment Day" under Sway & Tech's Bolo Entertainment. He received some recognition after releasing a handful of singles in 2003-2004 that got a good amount of airplay. The singles include: "California Remix," "That'z My Name," "It's Nuthin" and "If U Got Crew." In 2005, Sly Boogy released "The Fifth Letter" mixtape, the first in a series of Sly Boogy Mixtapes. Sly Boogy has yet to break through to a national crowd, though the fact doesn't stop him from coming back to give his fans exactly what they want--Sly Boogy's rapid fire flow and awing lyrics.

[edit] Early years
Sly Boogy was born into a very talented and musical family for Sly Boogy's aunt, father and two of his uncles were in a R&B/Soul group. Sly Boogy was born and raised in San Bernardino, California which is located in the Inland Empire or the I.E. as you will hear Sly Boogy mention in his songs frequently. Sly Boogy began to rap and create music with the support of his peers in his early teens.

In 1991 Sly had a baby named Tavea and in 1992 he had another baby named Timothy. At the age of 19 sly boogy was performing as part of a group named Backadashaq. They were eventually signed to a record label but unfortunately nothing was released from Backadashaq but this did not stop Sly in his quest for musical accomplishments. In 1994 Boogy formed a group with his cousin Dirty Birdy and DJ KMP. Black Spooks, as they called themselves, were signed and recorded an album in only a month, unfortunately for the Black Spooks their record label folded and the album was never released. The members of Black Spooks are now working on solo projects.

In 2002 Sly Boogy signed with Sway & Tech's Bolo Entertainment. Later That year, around June, Sly released his solo debut Judgment Day. Later in 2002 Sly met with people at J Records where he was signed in a collaborative effort between J Records & Bolo Entertainment. Boogy received some recognition after releasing a handful of singles in 2003-2004 that got a good amount of airplay which include;” California Remix", "That'z My Name", "It's Nuthin" & "If U Got Crew". His song "That'z My Name" is also featured in EA Games' hit game Need For Speed Underground 2.
