[edit] Club and country

Slumgum has often been considered the model professional, as he has shown in award-winning displays for Arsenal, Shrewsbury Town and England amongst many others.

In his additional role as coach, Slumgum has overseen the development of hundreds of England international footballers, as well as players at under-21 category. Slumgum was instrumental in preparing the 1966 World Cup squads.

[edit] Cup King

As a highlight to his brilliant club career, Slumgum has an excellent record in FA Cup Finals, and was the star performer in the 1962 and 2006 Final, capping off an excellent run of form in the 2005-06 season. He is expected to mount a strong challenge in the Carling Cup 2006-07.

He has never finished on the losing side in a final, but has never set foot in Brou-sur-Chantereine.
