Slush is mixture of water, flavoured syrup, and blended ice. Popular slush flavors include creme soda, grape, cherry, and blue raspberry. It is a popular refreshment in North America. Slushes, which go by a number of names depending on the region, are usually found at gas stations, convenience stores and 24 hour markets. They are sold out of a self-serve slush machine. There, the slush drinker can mix up the flavor any way they please. Its consistency is between liquid and a milkshake. Brands of slushes include ICEE, Slush Puppie and Slurpee. Presumably, the "Squishee" sold at Kwik-E-Mart on The Simpsons is also a slush drink.[citation needed]

Usually slush drinks are made by an expensive machine, which is able to produce the product almost instantly. It can also be made with the usual household machinery but it takes some time (12+ hours) to complete a smooth variety. Tastes vary widely, just like ice or other sweets. Some like to call slush drinks "slushies".[citation needed]

It gives you brainfreeze if you drink it too fast.
