Awesome picture. If the composition and lighting were a bit better I'd say featured picture, no question. NTK 23:45, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Why thank you, although I think "a bit" is an understatement. It is really just a vacation photo by high school junior with no training. I had taken my first digital photo just a few months before and hadn't really done anything more than just a casual family snapshot photography before the trip. I figured Costa Rica was a pretty good place to start to teach myself photography.
The lighting was really hard. The room we were in had almost floor to ceiling windows (as you can see in the picture) on all sides. It was also a picturesque [editorial note: or not] Costa Rican spring day. This meant that every angle was backlit. I was working with limited data storage space and had few opportunities to connect to the web and offload my photos. I didn't have the storage capacity or display to take a bunch and find the best one; the camera's display has a diagonal of just over 1 in. It's also out of focus because I was trying to get a shot of it sitting back in the basket. Then (idiot to remain nameless) thrust their hand towards the sloth making it drop down and grab them. That's why the basket is in better focus than the sloth. I got better over the course of the trip, though, and hope to add some more pictures from it soon.—WAvegetarianCONTRIBUTIONSTALK EMAIL 00:37, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
