For details of the 2006 Championship, check Sligo Intermediate Football Championship 2006. The Sligo Intermediate Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the middle-level Sligo clubs. The winners of the Sligo Intermediate Championship qualify to represent the county in the Connacht Intermediate Club Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship. Geevagh won the 2006 Championship, claiming their fourth title, and thus the outright most successful Championship team to date.
