I am Alan, and I live in La Crosse, WI, where I work sporadically and persist in my yet-futile dream of becoming an Internet Celebrity. This is not because I am terribly awkward socially, or all that doughy and moist, but I simply take the Internet far too seriously.

My interests span greatly, and have so far been thoroughly unhelpful in any practical sense. Besides the obvious interest in technology, I am fascinated by people and anthropology, both culturally and physically. I enjoy writing and literature, albeit the latter has suffered in attention.

The other great interest is in aviation, evidenced by a year at the University of North Dakota's aerospace program, and whilst not currently licensed, do plan to actively continue flying when finances allow. In the meantime I have to be satisfied with MS Flight Simulator.

One of my biggest interests online is Google Earth, a piece of software and use of broadband that finally gives the existence of the internet some practicality. I look forward to seeing more integration between Google Earth and Wikipedia in the future.
