Slave auction

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A slave auction or charity slave auction is a method of fundraising for charity. They are fun events where volunteers (the "slaves") are "sold" to donors in auction style, with the proceeds going to charity.

The slaves then have to do tasks for their respective "owners" for a certain length of time, usually embarrassing or menial but not unreasonable; the exact definition of reasonable varies from one group to another but usually excludes anything illegal, immoral or against the slave's religion/conscience; nudity or sexual favours (but see Slave auction (BDSM)); and anything where the effect would last beyond the specified length of time. Typical tasks are either essentially dares (as in the game Truth or Dare) or manual tasks like carrying the owner's bag for him/her or doing the dishes.
