Slaughter Beach is a town in Sussex County, Delaware, United States. The population was 198 at the 2000 census.

Slaughter Beach is located at 38°55′3″N, 75°18′29″W (38.917600, -75.308100)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.5 km² (1.3 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 198 people, 108 households, and 64 families residing in the town. The population density was 57.1/km² (147.9/mi²). There were 253 housing units at an average density of 72.9/km² (189.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.49% White, and 0.51% from two or more races.

There were 108 households out of which 3.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.6% were married couples living together, 3.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.7% were non-families. 30.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.83 and the average family size was 2.23.

In the town the population was spread out with 4.0% under the age of 18, 1.5% from 18 to 24, 17.2% from 25 to 44, 50.0% from 45 to 64, and 27.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 58 years. For every 100 females there were 88.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.3 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $41,250, and the median income for a family was $50,625. Males had a median income of $30,417 versus $37,188 for females. The per capita income for the town was $27,290. About 10.9% of families and 13.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including none of those under the age of eighteen or sixty five or over.
