SLAY Radio

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

SLAY Radio is a 24/7 internet-only radio station dedicated to playing remixes and tunes based on music from the Commodore 64 computer, as well as the Amiga, popular in the 1980s and 1990s. A lot of creativity resulted from composers only being able to play three notes simultaneously.

The owner of the station is known as Slaygon, who started it in 1999 or 2000.

In late 2003, live shows started to air regularly, broadening the audience to people that did not have any relation at all to the Commodore 64, but enjoyed it as a normal station. SLAY Radio has an active community. There are live shows where DJs and fans come together in an Internet Relay Chat channel while the shows are on air.

Remixers and DJs are still finding inspiration in the music and continuously release new material when it's ready.

SLAY Radio has been featured in numerous articles in news papers (Mikrobitti, GT (Swedish mag), Computer Total (German mag) among others) and on Sveriges Radio.
