[edit] Inclusion in the Airlines of New Zealand Template, and Categorisation
From what I can tell from this article, the airline never started operations. As such, should it be included as an historical airline in Airlines of New Zealand Template? All the other airlines included in the template operated services. Additionally, as it never commenced operations, is it right to class it as a defunct airline? From what I can tell, the Defunct Airlines Category is intended for airlines which have ceased operating, as opposed to those which were proposed, but failed to commence operations. The airline did attempt to get started. There were ticket counters at Auckland and Wellington airports. There was a plane in Skybus livery, and staff wearing uniforms. As a staff member I even got to fly onboard the inaugural flight with a full media contingent. I'll scan the flight ticket as soon as I find it. The National government was never going to allow a competitor to get established against the monopoly State owned airline (Air NZ) so they pulled the rug out from underneath it. There were thousands of paid-up "members" waiting for a chance to fly this discounted airline so it would have been functional given half a chance. --Hugo64 04:54, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
