[edit] Story

The Worms are back, and only three young girls can save the Earth from destruction. Aboard the secret vessel number 113, the Koryu, Sonic Diver Unit team members Eika, Otoha, and Karen help protect against the Worm threat with their mechs.

[edit] Timeline

  • 2079 CE Since their sudden appearance, the mechanical cell clusters, known as the Worms, begin sweeping away the human race on a massive scale.
  • 2081 CE After losing one-third of the population in the war with the Worms, humanity overcame their national differences and united behind a single force.
  • 2083 CE Not being able to turn the situation in their favor, humanity decided to permit the use of weapons of mass destruction. And they succeeded in the annihilation of the Worms. However, the price they paid was enormous. All the major continents were broken apart. Antarctica disappeared, and half of the remaining land mass was submerged. The largest damage this war caused was the loss of 90% of all military-age personnel, namely men in their twenties and thirties.
  • 2086 CE The Worms, once thought to have been eliminated, began their activities again.

[edit] Technology

Koryu

The Koryu is a Japanese military vessel on a secret mission. The three mechs that comprise the Sonic Diver Unit are stored aboard this ship as well as launched from it. The ship mounts an arsenal of different weapons, including two main cannons, at least one Gatling cannon, and six tetrapod missile bays. The tetrapod missiles unleash gunfire upon their target before impacting and exploding.

Sonic Diver Units

Each Sonic Diver unit has two modes: its default mode that is much like a fighter plane, and then its A-Mode, which is humanoid in form. The Sonic Diver units are able to transform modes in midair. The Sonic Diver units are extremely fast and maneuverable, but unlike a traditional mech are actually quite small and open. Rather than being protected by layers of armor, the pilots get their protection from nanoskin gel. The HUD floats in front of the pilot's face.

Motion Slit and Nanoskin Gel

The Motion Slit is the girl's combat outfits. It has a small tail on the back, which plugs into a cable on the Sonic Diver unit. The nanoskin gel is applied in a special chamber over the pilot's entire body, Motion Slit and all. The nanoskin lasts for a pure maximum of 21 minutes and 32 seconds, although the pilots try to stay out for no more than 20 minutes. After the time limit is up, the nanoskin disintegrates. If the nanoskin disintegrates in flight or combat, a pilot's chance of survival is close to zero.

Sonic Diver Raijin

The Raijin is equipped with two Gatling cannons, two smaller cannons, and two missile launchers capable of firing many missiles.

Sonic Diver Fujin

The Fujin is equipped with a single cannon and a large missile launcher capable of firing many missiles.

Sonic Diver Reijin

The Reijin is equipped with the MV Sword and four energy cannons.
