[edit] Play
Hi. I'm glad you decided to register an account. Welcome again, to Wikipedia :). I for one, would contend that fish and amphibians play, but that is based on my own observation and wikipedia would (righfully) consider that "original research" and not allow it in an article. I hadn't even thought of single-cell organisms, or species such as sponges. Out of curiosity, you said that it was contrary to "all evidence and most of the research" that fish, amphibians, and reptiles play; could you point me to some of that research? At any rate, you are right that an overly long discussion about which animals do and don't play doesn't belong in the article on toy, but that same discussion would be well-placed in the article on play (activity) (which, sadly, is a bit of a neglected article). I don't think your edit was nit-picky at all, but maybe simplifying it in the article on toy to say something like "most animals play", or "most animals with complex neurological systems play"... What do you think? ~ ONUnicorn (Talk / Contribs) 01:35, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
