Skurup is a municipality and town in Scania in southernmost Sweden.

The municipality covers an area of 195.7 km². Of the total population of 13,714, 6,871 are male, and 6,843 are female. The population density of the community is 70 inhabitants per km². Skurup is a part of Skånetrafikens 8th line between Malmö and Ystad

  • Nils Holgersson started his trip from Östra Vemmenhög in the southern part of *the municipality.
  • Until the 1990's Swedens southernmost ski slope was located in Skurup
  • August Strindberg has lived in Skurup. His chair is exhibited on the castle of Svaneholm
  • Skurup is since 2005 considered a part of Greater Malmö by Statistics Sweden
  • Skurup belongs to the world elite in pumpkin agriculture. 2005's pumpkin was 582 kg.
  • Skurups Folk high school has one of Swedens most famous journalist educations.
