Skorpion Zinc

Skorpion Zinc is the 8th largest Zinc mine in the world, producing Special High Grade (SHG) Zinc. It is in southwest Namibia, near a town called Rosh Pinah. What makes the plant unique is that it incorporates a solvent extraction circuit to purify the solution before electrowinning. It is the biggest Zinc solvent extraction circuit in the world and one of the largest solvent extraction plants of all types. It is owned and operated by Anglo American as part of the Anglo Base Metals division.
