Skitsoy is an alternative rock band consisting of Franky Desmet-Vandamme a.k.a. DSVD (formerly of Chanel Zero), Peter Fizgal (formerly Sweater, Luc Van Acker and Guy Swinnen), Yannick Uyttenhove (formerly Novastar) and Iwan Wijnen. The music is fueled by DSVD's powerful voice, often compared to Chris Cornell, combined with heavy bass-driven riffs.

[edit] Band history
Skitsoy started in 2001. Quite a while after Channel Zero disbanded, former singer Franky Desmet-Vandamme felt it was way too early for him to abandon music when he came up with a new project, called Skitsoy. In March 2002 they started playing their songs live all across Belgium. Without realising it, they embark on a 3-year odyssee. They conquered the crowd at lots of festivals and saw their fan base grow bit by bit. But 2 singles that got almost completely ignored, troubles with the label and the replacement of the guitar player, kept pushing back the release of the record. By this time, many had already written off Skitsoy.
However, in September 2004 Skitsoy recorded their debut album "Come 2 Belgium" at Wisseloord Studio's with multiple Grammy nominee Attie Bauw as producer. "Come 2 Belgium" was released beginning 2005 and came at the exact right time as it received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback. Due to the praising press reviews of "Come 2 Belgium", Skitsoy was able to support headlining acts such as 3 Doors Down, Life Of Agony, Monster Magnet and most recently Motörhead. Furthermore they played the mainstage at festivals such as Graspop Metal Meeting, Pukkelpop and Dour Festival.
More recently, on June 7, 2006, they won the first prize at the biggest European music contest "Bilborock" in Bilbao.
