Skipper's Seafood 'N Chowder House is a U.S. fast food chain founded by Herb Rosen in Bellevue, Washington in 1969. Skippers began serving fried fish, fried shrimp, fried clams, and chowders.
Skippers Seafood 'n Chowder Houses experienced rapid growth as new restaurants were opened in multiple western states and British Columbia. Skippers presently operates 64 restaurants; there are 35 locations in Washington state, 14 in Oregon, 8 in Idaho, 4 in Utah, 1 in Montana and 2 in Alaska. On Dec. 12, 2006 Skipper's Inc. filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in U.S. Court in Seattle in an organizational restructuring.
