Skerryvore (from the Gaelic Sgeir Mhor meaning big rock) is a remote skerry (reef) that lies off the west coast of Scotland at grid reference NL841265.

Skerryvore is also the name given to the lighthouse on the skerry, built with some difficulty between 1838 and 1844 by Alan Stevenson[1]. At a height of 48m (156ft) it is the tallest lighthouse in Scotland [2]. The shore station was at Hynish on Tiree which now houses a museum, the shore station being transferred to Erraid, west of Mull.
