Skender Kulenović

Skender Kulenović (Скендер Куленовић; September 2, 1910 – 1978) was a Yugoslav poet of Bosniak origin and Muslim religious background born in Bosnia.
During World War II he was a member of the antifascistic movement which together with Partisans, the Communist liberation army transformed the rotten Yugoslav monarchy into a republic. His best known poem is Stojanka majka Knezopoljka (Mother Stojanka from Knezopolje), about the German and Ustasa massacre of Serbian civilians during WWII in the Kozara region.
