Hi - yes, I think we did get off on the wrong foot! Actually, I think the major problem here is one of viewpoint; because critical pedagogy naturally questions the status quo, then if you come from a conservative country (as you do) then it follows per se that such questioning can be seen to be leaning to the left. If however, you were approaching it from the viewpoint of an educator in a more liberal, or even socialist, country, that may not be the case. Freire was not a Marxist; he was a socialist, and wrote much of his work in a country under a military dictatorship. It is unsurprising, therefore, that his views on pedagogy may be anti-authoritarian.

Your article is fine, but (and you know what I'm going to say), I'd suggest you remove 'Marxist' for the reason above. 'Left-wing' is fine as long as its sourced. I'd also suggest that you make it clear you're talking about the US - equivalent facilities in other countries are often called by other names (as are the qualifications gained). Perhaps just make the first sentence "In the United States...".

There was also an article called College of Education, but it was only a sentence so I've redirected it to yours. EliminatorJR Talk 00:01, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
