Skag Trendy

Skag trendy is a slang term that has come into popular usage, mostly in the UK, around 200102 with the rise of London-based punk and indie bands such as The Libertines. As skag is a slang term for heroin and trendy is a term for fashionable, the term has the same meaning as heroin chic.

Skag Trendy refers to a style of fashion that mimics, or is a direct reference to, the style worn by most of the current and old group of British indie rock bands. The most famous of these bands is The Libertines, and most people who are 'skag trendy' will look very much like the former frontman, Pete Doherty. Other bands that have an influence include Babyshambles, Dirty Pretty Things, The Paddingtons, The View, The Fratellis, and The Kooks.

'Skag Trendy' often includes the following pieces of clothing and accessories: skinny jeans, straw hats, vests, tight tee shirts, Fred Perry polo shirts, braces, flat caps, rosary beads, Converse trainers, pointy boots, single strap bags, and trilbies.
