Six Rivers Brewery

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Six Rivers Brewery is located in McKinleyville, California.

Carlos Sanchez is currently the resident brewmaster. In 2004 he won a silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado for his Chile Pepper Ale. In 2005 he took home the gold with the Kona Moon Porter.

In the area, Six Rivers Brewery is often simply referred to as "Six Rivers" and is a common music venue for the local nightlife. With a maximum capacity of only 350, the venue has attracted such names as: David Nelson, Bobby Vega, Ruben Diaz, members of the Wu-Tang Clan, The Wailers, and more. This area is a great stop for many musicians touring the Pacific Northwest, as Humboldt County is approximately halfway between San Francisco and Portland, Oregon. McKinleyville is just a short drive from neighboring Eureka and Arcata (home of Humboldt State University, which provides a large young crowd to which live music and beer often appeal).
