WaterWorld was a water park located in Houston, Texas. It was adjacent to Six Flags AstroWorld. The park was originally accessable only via the AstroWorld "610 Limited" locomotive, but a pedestrian sidewalk was eventually built, allowing guests to walk from the WaterWorld ticketing area to the park itself, eliminating the need to wait for a train ride. WaterWorld became a themed section of AstroWorld in 2002 with a second entrance being built near the "Plaza De Fiesta" section of AstroWorld; a single ticket granting admission to both parks.
Original attractions included Breaker Beach (large wave pool), Squirt Splash (children's play area), speed slides, body slides, lagoon activity area, and an inner-tube chute that wound itself around and over the "Thunder River" rapids ride.
Many items from WaterWorld were moved to Six Flags Splashtown after the closure and demolition of AstroWorld.
