Talk:Situational sexual behavior

[edit] Recent Changes
I've removed the line "There's also the common belief that adultery is allowed away from the home community." The word common is vague and unsupported. I unlinked gay sex. I've also added the word compelled to the the definition, although I'd prefer something slightly different. Hoever, both the mention of prison sex and pressure to demonstrate heterosexuality seem to call for it.

Also changed paragraph on sex tourism to distinguish behaviors where the person seeks out an environment where behaviors are allowed. Moved sex tourism link to see also. Finally, removed link on BUG and changed Amerocentric "college" to more universal "university".

[edit] Sex with minors
The article originally said "visit countries where sex with minors is allowed" but I've changed this as it suggests sex with minors is legal in these countries whereas in most of these countries which are frequent targets for child sex tourists it is not, the law is simply very poorly enforced for various reasons.Nil Einne 16:49, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Contradictions
This statement contradicts itself "The pressure to prove one's heterosexuality can lead to increased sexual behaviour in adolescents. Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered teens have twice the rate of pregnancy or impregnation as straight teens (Massachusetts 1997 Youth Risk Behavior Survey)." so I've changed it.
[edit] Information Search
I am currently searching Canadian Legal databases for caselaw and history surrounding related search terms. So far "situational sexual behaviour" receives no hits. "Overseas" and "sex" leads to three cases. I will look at these cases in the near future to see if they might help with info for this article.
[edit] What's the difference?
Why is it situational sexual behavior when someone travels to another country to have sex with a prostitute, but not when someone travels to another country to have sex with a child? Is it because the latter person would be abusing children in their home country as well? Should this be made explicit in the example? grendel|khan 16:51, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
