[edit] Sitaphalmandi

Sitaphalmandi (literally means custard apple market) is one of the neighbourhood adjacent to Secunderabad Railway Station.Its name comes from the fact that this was the first place where farmers arrive with custard apples and sell there produce in the whole of Hyderabad (atleast, it used to be). Even now a small group of farmers come to Sitaphalmandi early in the season on bullock carts to sell there produce. You can find them on Ramalayam street footpath where they usually put up tents for the whole season.

Its surrounded by Osmania University on the east (Approx 2Km), Warasiguda on the south (1Km), Secunderabad on the west (Approx 3Km), and Tarnaka on the north (Approx 2Km).

The place is well connected with Roadways and Railways. Secunderabad is only around 3Km from the place. Secunderabad being a Head quarters of South Central Railway (SCR) and also an important depot for APSRTC (State Road Transport),Its easy to get to any part of the city, district,or state.
It has one of the best MMTS (Local Train) Stations in Hyderabad/Secunderabad.The local railways station carries passengers to Faluknuma, Lingampally, Hyderabad and other adjoining districts. The trains to Lingampally are very popular as most of the passengers use it to get to Hitech City.
A huge Flyover bridge over the busy railway tracks is being constructed to connect the areas of chilkalguda and sitaphalmandi to the areas of Tarnaka and Osmania University Campus.
