Siren (Passions character)

Siren was a fictional character on the NBC daytime drama Passions, as portrayed by Brandi Burkhardt in the spring and summer of 2006.

Siren first "made a splash" in April 2006 when she rescued Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald from drowning in the ocean. She instantly fell in love with him, but didn't make her presence known until days later. This was partly because she didn't want him or anyone else to know that she was in actuality a mermaid conjured up by toddler Endora Lenox. Endora created Siren to woo Miguel away from Kay Bennett, who was engaged to Fox Crane, Endora's half-brother. Siren is consistently trying to get people to make love with her, and her past ideas were flirting, mesmerizing, acting cute, using her 'Siren song', and stew. She is also afraid of Fluffy, Tabitha's cat.

Siren continually and accidentally shows some facts that she is a mermaid. Such times are when Kay had amnesia, when she was trapped in the net at the modelling photo shoot, when a man knocked her into the dunk-splash at the Harmony Carnival, eating a rather lot of rot fish, and admitting she can move faster than a nuclear-submarine.

Siren was supposedly conjured up by Endora from the book, "The Little Mermaid". It was later revealed that the book is based off of her, and she can go back and forth between the book and the ocean by will. She has also revealed recently that she is older than Tabitha, and the reason why she looks so much younger is because mermaids don't age. Indeed, she had once revealed that while Tabitha was on the beach with some of her witch--friends, planning to cause trouble, Siren swam up shore and spotted them.

The rift between Siren and Tabitha isn't largely known. Since Siren and Tabitha are the oldest people in Harmony, and Siren looks much younger, she calls Tabitha "Hagitha" and just calls her an ugly hag with big hair. Though both Tabitha and Siren have promised to one another, that if either one of their secret comes out, both will rat the other out. Siren will tell everyone that Tabitha is in fact a witch, and she'll watch her get shot and put into the townsquare. Tabitha will also admit Siren is a mermaid, and will watch while they dissect her, organ to organ.

She has recently succeeded in putting Fox under the mermaid's curse by sleeping with him to hurt Kay, and plans to do the same with Miguel. Most currently, she was close to sleeping with Miguel, only to be interrupted by a pleading Kay who told Miguel she loved him as a last resort.

Kay was successful in breaking the mermaid's curse over Fox by getting him to be so jealous of her attachment to Miguel that he wanted to kill him by throwing a hair dryer into the shower while Miguel was in it. However he decided not to kill Miguel. Later on, Fox was complaining to Endora that he sometimes wished that Siren would just disappear since she complicated his relationship with Kay. As a result, Endora turned Siren into a mermaid doll and put her in a fishtank. Afterwards, she made the fish tank disappear.
