Sir Robert Abdy, 3rd Baronet

Sir Robert Abdy, 3rd Baronet FSA (1688 – 27 August 1748) was a British politician.
Baptised on 8 April 1688, he was the son of Sir John Abdy, 2nd Baronet and Jane Nicholas. Abdy was educated at Trinity College, Oxford, where he matriculated in 1705. In 1691, he succeeded to his father's baronetcy. From 1727 to 1748, he was Member of Parliament (MP) for Essex. Abdy was further a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London (FSA). He died, aged 60 and was buried in Stapleford Abbots in Essex.
On 5 July 1711, he married Theodosia Bramstone, daughter of George Bramstone in St Christopher le Stocks in London. They had two daughters and two sons, including John Abdy.
