Sir Richard Pennyworth Brockington III (July 26, 1894 – October 13, 1974) was one of the most prominent members of the famous Brockington family. Deemed by his peers as a madman he went on to have immense success in America.

Early Life

Brockington attended Trinity College, Cambridge and graduated as expected with honors in World History. Upon graduation he traveled the world and soon realized the undeniable eroticism of the feminine. He became enamored with all things female and was held entranced by them. He spent considerable time on his journey with various women of various lands and learned of the wonderful world of the bi-sexual woman.

Upon his return to England he dreamed of a freedom the late Victorian Era could not provide him, so he cashed in his fortune and headed to America in 1920 determined to live a hedonistic lifestyle.

Brockington in America

At this time Brockington came to the realization that although most people in modern civilization agree that they want a world of 'liberty, peace, justice, and love', they have not been able to agree on how to achieve it. He wanted to create a place where social norms were not the rule and all that anyone desired would be obtainable. He swiftly became popular amongst like mided individuals and established the Brockington Institute for Gaining Independence, Respect, and Loving Stability.(B.I.G.I.R.L.S.)

Against the backdrop of prohibition Brockington thrived and is credited with helping to usher in the age of the Flapper Girls. Flappers went to jazz clubs at night where they danced provocatively, wore short skirts, bobbed their hair, flaunted their disdain for what was then considered "decent" behavior, smoked cigarettes through long holders, and dated. They rode bicycles and drove cars. They drank alcohol openly, a defiant act in the period of Prohibition. Open sexuality and sexual promiscuity amongst both sexes made a reserved society even more irate.

"They were glittering places, decorated in Silver, Art, and Glass. The decor alone was worth the price of admittance. It was a total experience. There was always a 'cigarette girl' dressed in a short skirt, toting a tray with various brands of cigars and cigarettes, and very often a 'camera girl' was also in attendance. Waiters, dressed in tuxedos, served up exotic-looking drinks. There were chorus lines of luscious beauties, and bands that could make the music come alive. Above all, there was an electric atmosphere that said something wonderful was happening. " - Sir Richard Pennyworth Brockington III.

It is around this time that Sir Richard had a torrid affair with famous actress and It girl Clara Bow. In 1927, Bow reached the heights of her popularity and was dubbed the IT girl. Brockington described "It" as "That strange magnetism which attracts BOTH sexes... entirely unself-conscious... full of self-confidence... indifferent to the effect she is producing and uninfluenced by others."

The affair was brief but torrid and her noterity and his charm catapolted Brockington to United States stardom. He was very friendly with Aldous Huxley, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Aleister Crowley, Dr. Albert Hofmann and other prominent thinkers of the day.

Brockington continued to be at the forefront of the B.I.G.I.R.L.S. movement for the rest of his life. He has been credited with giving J. Howard Miller the idea for the famous "We Can Do It" poster of Rosie the Riveter during World War II when discussing with Miller two Bi-Sexual women who kept eachother company while their men were off to war and they worked here at home.

Sir Richard also was a lifelong supporter of the feminist movement.

He fought against domestic violence, for maternity leave, for equal pay, against sexual harassment, and against sexual violence, Giving millions to aid the cause.

Brockington was also at the forefront of the Sexual Revolution of the 1960s.

A new culture of "free love" with tens of thousands of young people becoming "hippies" arose who preached the power of love and the beauty of sex as part of ordinary life. This is part of a counterculture that exists to the present. A tremendous increase in female Bi-sexuality and free sexual expression began to dawn, and Brockington helped once again to usher in the age.

The Summer of Love refers to the summer of 1967, and particularly to the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco, where thousands of young people from all over the world loosely and freely united for a new social experience. As a result, the hippie counterculture movement came into public awareness. Brockington had succeded !

The beginning of the Summer of Love has popularly been attributed to the Human Be-In at Golden Gate Park on January 14 of that year. Although in the latter stages of his life Sir Richard missed the birth of his seventh child on that date due to his attendence at the Human Be-In.

Sir Richard was overwhelmed when he was asked to have his likeness placed on the album cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles. He was later taken out due to sour grapes on the part of the record company (EMI) owner. It is alleged his grandmother once had a bi-sexual relationship with another woman and Sir Richard. Brockington became good friends with John Lennon after the unfortunate affair.
