Singularity [1] will be Mae's third full-length release and their major label debut. The album was originally to be released on Tooth & Nail Records like their previous two albums, but the band signed a deal with major label Capitol Records soon after the new album announcement [2].

[edit] Release date

According to drummer Jacob Marshall, the band had a release date set but the recent Virgin/Capitol merger put things "a little up in the air" [3]. A firm date has not been announced by the band, but recent news places the release in June [4], tentatively June 5, 2007 [5].

[edit] DVD

There is a possibility of a DVD being co-released with the new album. The band's tour manager has filmed almost 100 hours of footage of the album's writing and recording, and says that much of the material "will likely make it to DVD either with the new album or as a stand alone DVD" [6].

[edit] Tour

Mae has begun a spring tour with Relient K and Sherwood in support of the new album [7]. A set list from the second Chicago House of Blues show was posted on the band's website March 24th [8]. The set included the following songs (new songs--supposedly to be released on Singularity--are in bold):

  • "Telescopes"
  • "Summertime"
  • "Suspension"
  • "Countdown" ("This is the Countdown")
  • "This Time" ("This Time is the Last Time")
  • "Anything"
  • "Waiting"
  • "Painless"
  • "Sea"(This song on the set list may also be the song "Someone Else's Arms," the 3rd track off The Everglow, as the band has used the acronym S.E.A. for this song on set lists during earlier tours)
