Singsaker studenterhjem

Singsaker Studenterhjem is a home for students located at Singsaker in Trondheim, Norway. The house was originally built Germans during World War II, and became a home for students on September 2 1946. Plans for a student home can be found as far back as 1912-13.
Today the house has 110 inhabitants in 106 rooms. The students are mainly students from NTH, now known as a part of NTNU. It is owned by a non-profit foundation, and it is managed by a board of six students. The students are elected for one semester at the time.
The home is today the only place in Trondheim where you can live and get all your meals served throughout the school year. The common rooms are cleaned by staff every Monday through Friday. Singsaker Studenterhjem depend on the students living there to help out on maintaining the house. All students are required to work a total amount of 48 hours for the house every semester. During the summer the student home closes and it is turned into a hotel. During that periode all students have to move out their belongings from the rooms.
