[edit] Hidden/Bonus tracks/Alternate covers
After "...but home is nowhere," there is a hidden poem, which some refer to as "Spoken Word." After the poem, a new song begins, entitled "This Time Imperfect." The UK edition of the CD also contains two bonus tracks; "Synesthesia" and "Now the World". These tracks were also available for download from a "secret site" to which the US version of the album gave access. However, the secret site has been down for some time now.
The album was released with three cover options: red, silver and black. Most of the covers are red. Half of the first US and UK pressings featured the silver cover[1], which is now rare and out of print. The black cover was only available at shows on the US tour following the album release, as well as through the Despair Faction's online store, but is also now rare and out of print.
[edit] B-sides/Unreleased tracks
The track "Rabbits are Roadkill on Route 37" was recorded during the Sing the Sorrow sessions. The song was first aired during an interview with the band on the radio station KROQ in October 2005. The song was released on the compilation album MySpace Records, Vol. 1 in November 2005, and as a bonus track on the UK and Australian editions of Decemberunderground in 2006.
The band has confirmed that a song called "Carcinogen Crush" was recorded, and will eventually be released. Another track called "100 Words" is assumed to have been recorded, but the band has yet to officially confirm its existence. Some fans assert "100 Words" is another name for Miseria Cantare- The Beginning because the song actually contains 100 words.
[edit] DVD edition
A limited DVD edition was released, and features a short film called Clandestine, directed by Norwood Cheek. The film is eight minutes long, features all four band members and contains references to Sing the Sorrow. The film sees the band members trying to obtain a mysterious box which bears resemblance to the Sing the Sorrow album cover. The film features two soundtracks; one by Hunter, and one by Jade.

[edit] Miscellanea
- The word 'fucking' is used twice in "Death of Seasons." To avoid a Parental Advisory warning, the word is replaced with 'scuking' in the lyrics booklet, or '****ing' in later pressings.
- "Miseria Cantare" roughly translates to "to sing misery," which is similar to the album title: Sing the Sorrow.
- Gibson Casian, who reads the first part of the "Spoken Word" poem, is Jade Puget's half-brother.
- The album was ranked number 77 on the October 2006 issue of Guitar World magazine's 'List of the 100 Greatest Guitar Albums of All Time'.
- Some fans consider the album to tell a story (widely considered as birth, life and death, with many cinematic references), a story which begins at track 3 "Bleed Black" closely listened to the beginning of the track features heavy breathing, which may or may not sound like someone being birthed. If this were the case, it would explain why "The Leaving Song, Pt II" appears chronologically on the album before "The Leaving Song"
- Even though this album was released on Dreamworks Records, the CD also features a Nitro Records logo.
- Former ROH wrestler CM Punk used "Miseria Cantare- The Beginning" as his theme. A sped up version of the song was also used as theme music for the CHIKARA promotion's CP Munk character, a parody of the aformention CM Punk in the form of a chipmunk.
- Fans often consider Sing The Sorrow to be 337 after Gavin (AFIs' Tour Merch Seller & Official Board Administrator) response to 336, saying it was unimportant and was only what came before. Sing The Sorrow was released after the 336 EP
