Sinéad O'Carroll
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sinéad O'Carroll (born Sinéad Maria O'Carroll, 14 May 1973, Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish musician, best known as one quarter of the girl band, B*Witched. (Although the official B*Witched website gave her year of birth as 1978, she later admitted that this was a lie. [1])
It was her departure from the group in 2002 that broke up the band, and since then she has embarked on a string of solo projects, with mixed success. She spent some time managing a new girl group, Minx, until their somewhat early demise in 2004, but recently set up a musical workshop known as Star Academy to help talented youngsters succeed in the music industry.
She has stated that she does not wish to return to the music business as an artist in her own right, disliking the levels of control that record companies can exert over musical acts - something that she claims to have fallen victim to in the final months of her time in B*Witched.[citation needed]
O'Carroll got married in Ireland in June 2006.
