A tag has been placed on Josh sigurdson, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. RobJ1981 08:10, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Off topic

re:Eastern span replacement of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge You inclusion of the winnepeg bridge was both off topic (it is not this type) and even if it were on-topic was misplaced (wrong section), so I reverted it. - Leonard G. 17:30, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hover Dam

Can you contribute an image of a student model of the Hover Dam? Contact me if you need help. Best wishes, Leonard G. 17:32, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] John Lennon

I removed your edits to John Lennon where you added, "Critics world wide find that The U.S. Versus John Lennon is the best film on Lennon's carear ever made. When it was released, addiences clung to the screen making sure not to miss a second of it. It's a must see!" "Career" and "audiences" are misspelled, but more importantly, the entry appears to be fancruft, claims about the quality of the work that are biased and/or not supported by professional reviews or other reputable assessments. Feel free to add something about critical response to the film from professional reviewers or news stories, but I suggest you do so in the article about the film, rather than in the article on John Lennon. [edit] Adding pictures

Start with an appropriate image. Make a note of where it is in your file system. If you have a digital camera image this will be a jpeg (the file will be "<name>.jpg", "jpg" is the file suffix. Various other files can be used also.

Log in, then select "Upload file" from the toolbox (below the search bar at the left of the page).

Read the instructions and limitations - you must have the right to upload the image (easy if you took it), or proper permission, which you should be able to document.

Click the "Choose file" button - you will get a file browser dialog. Navigate through your directories and select the file.

The name for the upload will be filled in. If the file does not have a meaningful and likely unique name, replace the autofilled name with something appropriate - a descriptive name. I prefer to also add the camera sequence number to this name to make the name unique and so I can find the original.

Fill in the information.

Select a license.

  • "PD-self" is the broadest release - anyone can use it for any purpose, without crediting you.
  • "cc-by-sa" to get credit, but this is mostly for professional artists or contributing companies.

You can include the license in your text by enclosing the template name in double braces, or use the selector at the bottom of the page.

Hit the upload button. If the name conflicts with an existing name, go back and rename.

Do not replace other's images, but if you improve one of your own, you can.

The same mechanism applies to the Commons http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/. By uploading there your images are available to other projects and non-english wikipedias.

Let me know if you have any questions. - Leonard G. 05:07, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
