I know the Dictionary of Canadian Biography calls it Fort Mcleod (and this article says the same, almost word for word, something I plan on changing) but the only fort of that name I'm familiar with is East of the Rockies in South-West Alberta (Just South of Calgary). Could a more knowledgable Wikipedian enlighten me about this supposed other Fort Mcleod? --Zytsef 08:55, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Is McLeod Lake really "the first permanent European settlement west of the Rockies in present-day Canada"? I thought Hudson's Hope was west of the Rockies, and Fraser founded it a couple of months earlier. Fishhead64 07:00, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
