[edit] Trial

Trial needs its own page--F3rn4nd0 BLA BLA BLA 17:24, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Probably not now since the gov't got screwed and there may be another trial. Does anyone know definitively if there is going to be another trial? Humbabba 08:59, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

I would suggest taking note of the wikipedia policy on libelous materials in biographies of living persons, as this article makes numerous accusations that have never been proven in court, and states them as facts. Mr Palmera has been convicted of kidnapping the Ochoas by a Colombian court. Everything else should be considered as an accusation at this point. (example, directing numerous other kidnappings). The page is somewhat out of date since much of it was written before the conclusion of his first trial. Also you may wish to include more details on the drug trafficking case, which involves the attempt to trade 10,000 AK-47 machine guns for drugs, orchestrated by Vladimiro Montesinos of Peru. I understand that the prosecutors will try to keep the machine guns and Mr Montesinos out of the trial, but they are in the indictment and I don't understand how they can tell half a story and have it make any sense.
