Simplician

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Saint Simplician (d. August 13, 400) succeeded Saint Ambrose as bishop of Milan in 397. He was already an old man by that time. He was considered responsible for the conversion of Augustine of Hippo, who praised him for his learning and zeal, and for that of Saint Alipius.

Simplician was succeeded by Venerius as bishop of Milan.

His feast day is August 16.
