SimpleTech is a global engineering and manufacturing company that offers DRAM, Flash memory, and storage products for a wide range of consumer applications, including portable electronics, personal computing, small office, and network attached storage. SimpleTech is the third largest U.S. provider of hard disk drive-based external, portable and network storage solutions for consumers and small business users.

On February 12, 2007 Fabrik, Inc. acquired the consumer brand "SimpleTech" from SimpleTech, Inc. After divesting the SimpleTech brand, the publically traded and owned company SimpleTech, Inc. became STEC, Inc. STEC, Inc., formerly the OEM division of SimpleTech, Inc., designs and manufactures industrial-grade Flash and DRAM memory solutions.
SimpleTech, Inc. was originally founded in California in March 1990 as Simple Technology, Inc. The name was then changed to SimpleTech, Inc. in May 2001, and again to STEC, Inc. in February 2007 after the divesture of the SimpleTech brand and consumer business operations to Fabrik, Inc.
