Simone Prendergast

Dame Simone Ruth Prendergast, DBE, JP, DL was created a DBE for her political and public service. She is a retired member of of the UK's Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions' Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal which reviews cases of malfeasance and/or misconduct against British solicitors.

[edit] Case of Philip Redfern
Prendergast and two others presided in panel over the case of Philip Redfern, a solicitor from near Blackburn "who acted for clients against a firm of which he was a director has been after being found guilty of professional misconduct [and] ... [who] had also breached undertakings and delayed in dealing with conveyancing matters". He was "struck off" or disbarred, in consequence.
John Potter, chairman of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, sitting with David Faull and Dame Simone Prendergast, said: "This is a dreadful course of conduct by Mr Redfern over a substantial period of time to the prejudice of a number of people."
