Simone Barone, Cavaliere (born April 30, 1978 in Nocera Inferiore, Salerno) is an Italian footballer who plays for Serie A team Torino FC and the Italy national football team. He is 180 cm tall and wears the #8 jersey for his club.
Barone started his career making his first team debut in 4 May 1997 for Parma, against Atalanta. He then played for Padova of Serie C1 in 1998, Alzano Virescit of Serie B in 1999 and Chievo Verona for two years (2000 and 2001), before to move back to Parma in 2002. In 2004, he transferred to Palermo for €5m. [1]
Barone debuted for the Italy national football team on February 18, 2004, in a 2-2 tie against Czech Republic. He is part of Italy's 2006 FIFA World Cup squad. He appears two times as a substitute on Italy's quest to win the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
On 5 August 2006 Simone completed his move to Torino FC for 2.7m. [2]
