Description

Multislice simulation for GaN. Top: atomic model of GaN [0001] and the corresponding exit wave, peaked at the location of Gallium and Nitrogen columns. Bottom: images that would be recorded at the indicated defoci. Notice how contrast can be strong even if there is no atoms at that location.
