[edit] Summary
The Simpsons on The Tracey Ullman Show. From left to right, Maggie, Homer, Marge, Lisa and Bart
This image is an illustration of a character or characters in a comic book, video game, or animated television program or film. The copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher/producer and/or artist(s) producing the work in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of character artwork:
- for commentary on the character or characters in question,
- on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Fair use for more information.
To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.[edit] Source

[edit] Fair use for The Simpsons, The Simpsons shorts and Homer Simpson
This image, Simpsons on Tracey Ullman.png, is being linked here; though the picture is subject to copyright I (Maitch) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- it is a low resolution copy.
- it does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the Tracey Ullman Simpson shorts in any way.
- it is unlikely that the image would be used for illegal prints since The Simpsons looks different now.
- the image is significant because it shows the development of the characters.
[edit] Fair use for Matt Groening
This image, Simpsons on Tracey Ullman.png, is being linked here; though the picture is subject to copyright I (Gran2) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- it is a low resolution copy.
- it does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the Tracey Ullman Simpson shorts in any way.
- it details a very important work of Matt Groening, and is only being used in an informative way.
