The only rationale provided above for the fair use claim is that the images have been "reduced in resolution". This is very far from being a sufficient criterion for fair use.

Our usage of the image contains no "transformative" element ([4]), in particular, there is no element of criticism or commentary on the image itself.

See WP:FAIR#Counterexamples: an historic painting used to merely illustrate the object depicted in the painting; or an image of a person used to merely show what they look like, are not normally fair use. In fact, this image fails to even "show what they look like", since it is not an authentic portrait but a mere product of a modern painter's imagination. Hence, it blatantly fails criterion 8 of our policy, of "contributing significantly to the article". It is mere decoration.
