This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | unblock | contribs) asked to be unblocked, but an administrator or other user has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators or users can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). This unblock request continues to be visible. Request reason: "I understand that my actions were uncalled for (to say the least) However, having been blocked for over a month, I have had time to reflect on my actions and I apologise fully. I also understand the severe reprocussions of my actions, primarily being that I can't contribute, and that Wikipedia can't afford users who abuse their power in the wikipedia community. Additionally, I am not the sole user of this IP adress, as other members of my family have become frustrated with being unable to contribute to wikipedia. Once again, I apologise for my behaviour and I understand completely why I was blocked. If unblocked, I will cease all actions that contribute negatively to wikipedia (ie Percy Nobby Norton) and will instead contribute positively to articles that are in need of contribution. Thankyou. [edit] Re: threatening vandalism

Re: [1]. In that you threaten to vandalize Wikipedia for a year. Paradoxically, in the same message you're very concerned about having wasted an hour of your life in creating the Percy article in the first place. I can assure you that your efforts to vandalize Wikipedia will also be a waste of time, as it will be reverted by others who wish to contribute positively to this project rather than behave as you are currently behaving. I would far prefer if you would take the opportunity of contributing positively to this wonderful project rather than engage in a campaign against the project that will waste more time of yours than it will of the editors here, as undoing vandalism takes less effort than creating it in the first place. Hoping the best for you, --Durin 21:24, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Apologise Immediately

I only threatened vandalism because you deleted an article which i believe to be completely factual. I spent time researching Percy Norton and i attempted to post this information onto wikipedia's database only to find that it was deleted by a bunch of power hungry ultra right-wing bastards. So you're saying that you deleted the article, which was intended to further wikipedia, because you believed it was hindering it. That makes no sense. I put it to you, that you are racist, who cares not for the country of Australia or its icons. I demand you re-instate this article post haste. Do you even know where Australia is?

Let me ask you this. You accuse me of wasting MY time, yet you are the one who seemingly spends his time editing wikipedia. You make a living working on the internet. That is not real work. Go find a job!

Give me evidence that this article is a hoax. Do it, I have yet to receive any such evidence supporting your claims. How dare you assume that Norton didn't exist, in the eyes of Australia this man is a cult figure. Your mockery of this man can be likened to my new found claim that Edgar Allen Poe was in fact a character conjured in the minds of the American Public in the attempt to feel better about their culture's failed attempts at competing with the rest of the world in relation to literature.

YOU, Sir, are an elitist autocrat who takes pleasure from crushing the dreams of the working class. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Silentbob4477 (talkcontribs) 04:31, 3 November 2006 (UTC.

  • First, I didn't delete it. Second, whether something is factual or not does not automatically mean an article should be created on the subject. Taking this to extremes, if this were policy we could create articles on a permanently emplaced flower pot on a city street somewhere. It's a fact it exists, afterall. Third, your various comments about me being right-wing, racist, power hungry, elitist, autocrat, etc. are without base and are simply personal attacks. You've been warned about this before. I heartily encourage you to read Wikipedia:No personal attacks. Fourth, I have not mocked anyone, much less the subject we are discussing. Fifth, the original version of the Percy Nobby Norton article was a hoax, not the later ones. You can't see that because you are not an admin and it was deleted. However, that orginal version was blatantly a hoax. For example, it contained claims of publications spanning 87 years. Possible? Yes. Likely...no. But worse...he supposedly published "Calvin & Knobes:Thrilling tales of misadventures" in 1902. Ref Calvin and Hobbes, a comic strip that did not come into existence until the 1980s. He also supposedly published "Desperate Househusbands" in 1923, a play on words against Desperate Housewives which did not come into reality into 2004. The orginal article was blatantly a hoax and was properly deleted. As for the later versions, yes indeed there is a Percy Nobby Norton garage band, but that is all it is. If you can show some cause for editors here to believe it is anything more than that, then by all means present *your* evidence of that, rather than simply making uncited claims that this performer is a cult icon.
  • As to your vandalism, as expected your attempts at vandalizing [2] were quickly reverted [3]. The revert of your attempt took one click of the mouse by another admin. As previously noted, you're just wasting your own time. Also, your attempted recreation of the Percy Norton article was deleted as well. It's your time to waste I guess. But, if your behavior continues as it has you will, as the warnings show below, be blocked from editing. Why not contribute positively? At least you wouldn't be wasting your own time. --Durin 13:48, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your user page

Hi! I am flattered that you have copied so much of my user page to your own. One's user page is, like all contributions made here, covered by GFDL licensing, so I cannot prevent you from using the layout from mine. I would ask you though to remove any links which are specific to me. Claiming my barnstars is a little disrespectful to the editors who awarded them to me as well; you might want to remove them as well. Best wishes, --Guinnog 14:57, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for that. Please also remove the link to my RfA, the claim that you are an administrator, and the links to User:Gwernol and User:Spellmaster. Thanks in advance, --Guinnog 15:09, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Questions.

  • Are you admins seriously considering banning my userpage and if so, why?
  • What are your policies on userpages?
  • Is mine under threat from destruction? (do please try to explain this to me...)
I don't see any major problem with your user page. Your external link might offend some people; I assume it is intended humorously and it might be worth making that clearer. Always remember the aim of our project is to write an encyclopedia and anything that seems to go against that goal will be frowned upon, if it is sen as intimidating other users for example. More details can be found at Wikipedia:User page. Great picture! Best wishes, --Guinnog 15:41, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
  • The only problem I saw with your userpage (and the change I made to it) was the usage of afair use imagesthat didn't comply with the fair use rationale. Long story short, you basically need to hold the copyright (or have proof of permission to post a copyrighted image) for any image you are going to put on your userpage, or the image needs to be in the Public domain.--Isotope23 16:02, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Another quick question. This might seem quite amature and i assure it is. How do i change the color of the actual text? i can change the colors of the heading, but not the subtext itself...i had intended to learn all this ages ago, but never got around to it... cheers.

[edit] Barnstars

Please immediately remove any barnstars from your user page that you awarded to yourself and also the forged signatures that you attached to them. --ArmadilloFromHell 07:40, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

If you copy and paste content from another page, please do not include any signature type lines from them. I've removed this item, as it can be confusing to other users at best. — xaosflux Talk 17:46, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What is your policy on barnstars?

i was under the belief that barnstars were of public use. Explain to me, in essay format, their purpose, how they should be used and why I can't use them.

In Addition, would you say that I'm ready to become an admin?

Silentbob4477 10:20, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

You probably have them cofused with http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Uncyclopedia:Ninjastar

[edit] Removing speed delete tag

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. --ArmadilloFromHell 17:23, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

I've removed this page from Speedy Deletion candidates, but you should review WP:USERPAGE for what can and what can not be on a userpage. Specifically Images that are not free (as in speach) are not allowed, and I've removed one as such. Thanks, — xaosflux Talk 17:47, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia is not a free web host

I removed the Nobby Norton hoax from your userpage. Wikipedia is not in the business of offering free home pages and this content is not in line with the goals of the project. Friday (talk) 20:28, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blocked

You have been temporarily blocked from editing because of repeated vandalism to Wikipedia. Please note that page blanking, addition of random text or spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks, and other deliberate attempts to disrupt Wikipedia are considered vandalism. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may come back after the block expires. Mangojuicetalk 14:27, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

I have done nothing justifiable with being blocked. I have not logged into my account, Silentbob4477 for more than a week. I am utterly confused by all of this. Do explain Silentbob4477 14:37, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

And yet, here you are mere minutes after being blocked. The block was in response to this and this bit of vandalism, plus your warnings above. Mangojuicetalk 14:45, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

You can't physically prove that I, myself did that. In addition, I DID NOT DO IT. Though that article does meet my standards for speedy deletion, the whole "cultivating the moon" article is patent nonsense no matter HOW you look at it. So, do you think I'm ready to be an admin? Silentbob4477 14:48, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm ignoring your claims that you didn't do it. I don't really care if you (whoever you are) did it, all I know is that this account did it and this account is what's blocked, and I don't have to prove anything. If I believed you that someone else was able to log in to your account and vandalize Wikipedia, I'd have no choice other than to block the account permanently as a compromised account, so be glad. This block is only for 24 hours. As for the Wild Moonberries business, I didn't read the "article" and I don't care to - it's in user space, which is like scratch space where people can work on things. And yet, somehow, you found it and started messing around with it. But there's absolutely no excuse for your attempt to have User:Ryulong's user page deleted -- that's pure vandalism, and you've been warned about vandalism before and have threatened it before. Mangojuicetalk 15:24, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Well I therefore put it to you that I should be allowed to post whatever I want on MY userpage. User Armadillo From Hell posted this on my friend's page
I can have anything reasaonable in my user space, it's not an article. --ArmadilloFromHell 15:11, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Note that that page is in my user subspace and is clearly labelled under the heading Sophisticated Nonsense. I never created the page as an article, I never claimed it was real, and I never wasted everyone's time trying to pretend a hoax article was real. --ArmadilloFromHell 15:43, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

CONGRATULATIONS IN COMPLETELY AVOIDING MY ORIGINAL STATEMENT. YOU ARROGANT IMPERIALIST AMERICAN! This is typical of your country. You brandish Australia as being too insignificant for its cultural icons to be allowed space on wikipedia. I therefore ask that You, Armadillo From Hell, (that username offends me, I dislike the use of the term hell, its Blasphemous)remove ALL articles which involve the cultural legacy of America. Not that it exists or anything, but I've lived in your country, and let me tell you, the culture is nothing in comparison to that of England or Australia. This entire debate is reflective of the clearly biased viewpoint that wikipedia presents. It accounts for the cultural aspects of interests that confirm the American ideology. Good Day.

How can you justify that My page is patent nonsense when an admin CLEARLY promotes the use of patent nonsense on his own site! IT MAKES NO SENSE. The Great Percy Nobby Norton means very much to me, and I am genuinely offended by your hostile actions in removing my beliefs in this man. IT IS AN ARGUABLE BELIEF. I put it to you, you power-hungry, elitist, autorcratic pig-dog, that the Holocaust never happened. How do you feel now? Offended? This is exactly the same way I feel about your constant removal of Percy Nobby Norton. I was under the impression that Wikipedia sought to provide a non-biased argument to anything and everything under is users. MY argument is hardly biased. It is the truth! NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU TELL ME IT'S NOT, IT IS, I ASSURE YOU! Do you people understand?? Your constant deletion of Percy Nobby Norton, is in essence, has the same effect as claiming that Edgar Allen Poe, did not exist. Percy Nobby Norton is a legendary figure over here, but you wouldn't know that would you, your cultural understanding of Australian society is shaped by your previous viewing of the film Crocodile Dundeed and Kangaroo Jack. Edgar Allen Poe, I add, was a talentless hack whose poetry was mediocre at best. I challenge you to actually learn something about Australian society, rather than basing your judgements on Mick Dundee and his crazy antics. I am to the point of tears of your disrespectful treatment of myself and my friend Enknowed.

Silentbob4477 15:36, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Please overturn this block:This guy was merely exerting some political freedom because of his article and userpage problems. Looking at the edits he made his points were valid. His articles that have been deleted are less ludacrist then the Moonberry story and his userpage isnt as bad as some others. I vote for a some tolerance in this situation. What lesson is to be learnt by leaders (Admins) who exert their power without thinking they need to provide explanations and valid reasoning behind their actions? Enknowed 15:01, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Okay, first of all, Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks and incivility, so cool it. Second, if you want your block looked at by someone other than me you'll have to add {{unblock|''(your reason here)''}}, to get the attention of someone else. Third, my block of you had absolutely nothing to do with the Percy Nobby Norton article, but with your vandalism. Mangojuicetalk 16:28, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Because of the personal attacks above ("you power-hungry, elitist, autorcratic pig-dog" etc), I've extended the block to a week. Further, having looked at his complete editing history, I'm not sure why we wouldn't want to block indefinitely. — Matt Crypto 08:02, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
WHAT! You can't possibly be serious! IT'S CALLED FREEDOM OF SPEECH! YOU AMERICANS ARE SUPPOSED TO LOVE/ABUSE IT. I have indeed made contributions to wikipedia. Just look at my fine work on the Paul Scholes page. Before it made no sense whatsoever. I cleared it up real nicely.
After discussion with other administrators, we have decided it would be best if you were blocked indefinitely. We thank you for your positive contributions in the past, but we don't see you being helpful anymore. Mangojuicetalk 13:09, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Allow me to make this abundantly clear: Silentbob4477 and Enknowed are different people. We know each other and are good mates, but we are not the same person. Enknowed 09:57, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My apologies

User Bpazolli is infamous for such usage of wikpedia and he, to some extent, took it further than i did. He even impersonated an admin. I have not done this. I have merely exerted my beliefs that wikipedia's policy is too extreme. My beliefs of Percy Nobby Norton were constantly ridiculed by your complete and utter disrespect for this character in Australian history.

I do apologise for my outbursts and I accept that they were totally out of need. I merely became frustrated at my attempts of furthering wikipedia were constantly blocked.

Please consider over turning my ban from wikipedia, as i do find myself frequently using it every day. I kid you not, I use it to the point where it becomes sad. However, my attempts at editing, however limited were usually of a destructive nature, which I agree to be completely erratic and indeed annoying. Having just acquired a large space of time, I was planning on contributing positively to wikipedia. I say that in all honesty.

I am even willing to apologise for MOST of the Percy Nobby Norton crap i posted. It was however, amusing. Undeniably.

Again, I apologise for causing trouble.

[edit] Please Over-turn My block

I sent an email to MangoJuice, but to no avail, still no response. In it, I detailed a proposition that I want considered. Thankyou.

Yes, well, needless to say it didn't impress me. As much as I'm sure your future positive contributions would help, the risk that you'd continue any of your old behavior is easily enough to outweigh that and then some. And the fact that you're only willing to apologize for "most" of the Percy Nobby Norton nonsense is proof enough that you don't belong here. Mangojuicetalk 03:53, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
As you previously stated and demonstrated, it is very easy for admins to block a person indefinitely, hence if I did re-commence vandalism, you would easily be able to block me. However, if you don't overturn my block, you will never know. The reason I apologise for 'most' of my percy nobby norton antics is because I genuinely attempted to create a factual argument. I apologise if this isn't wikipedia's policy. Just consider it. I assure you I would discontinue my vandalism.
